Product Description
Super Z6 was designed by SCC for cars, trucks, and SUV’s with restricted clearance around the drive tires. Based on SCC’s experience with other products in the “Z” family, Super Z6 has one very special quality: it will operate in less than half of the space required by most cable chains and tire chains. Super Z6 requires only 6mm (1/4″) of sidewall clearance to operate. The diagonal pattern provides constant traction, aggressive starting, stopping, cornering and ensures compatibility on vehicles equipped with traction control and electronically monitored brake systems. Traction coils, made from alloy steel are more durable than conventional tire or cable chains. A split outside cable with two fastening positions allows for easy installation without moving the vehicle, and there’s no need to stop and retighten. Most cars, trucks and SUV’s manufactured since the late 80’s will have special clearance requirements.

Don’t be fooled by the appearance of the tire positioning on your vehicle. Traction products not only have to fit the tire, but must also fit within the space provided around the tires. Most issues are hidden from view as they are behind the tire near braces, suspension parts, strut housings, splash guards and fuel and brake lines. More information should be located in the owner’s manual under chains, traction devices, tires or similar heading. It is important to select a traction product that is compatible with the minimum class assigned to your vehicle. The class assigned to your vehicle is based on the original tire and wheel size shown in your owner’s manual. Using a different size tire may affect the chain’s ability to operate properly. Some owner’s manuals state that certain tire sizes do not provide enough clearnace to accommmodate winter traction products. The fact is, many of these vehicles can use SCC’s Super Z6. Trying to measure the nearest obstruction under your vehicle could prove tricky.

Based on the “Z” family of products, the Super Z6 is designed for vehicles with restricted clearance around the drive tires. The Super Z6 requires only 6.33 millimeters (.25 inches) of sidewall clearance to operate, less than half the space required by most cable and tire chains. A diagonal crossmember pattern provides better outstanding traction and durability than conventional chain systems.

A split outside cable with two fastening positions allows for easy installation without moving the vehicle, so there’s no need to stop and retighten. The traction coils are manufactured from alloy steel to increase the lifespan of the product. The Super Z6 is also designed to prevent scratching of alloy or high performance tire rims.

These are high quality snow cable chains. User friendly. The best on the market to add to your tires during a snow storm with minimal effort. I lived in CO. and needed them off and on. Now I am in IL. and bought these Z6 model which is a newer and better design then older styles. There good to have on hand for that one big storm that puts other people in the ditches and all you have to do is take 5 minutes to put them on and keep driving. I bought two sets so all four tires will have them in case a mother of all storms hit one day. Better to have them and not use them then not have them and when your sitting in a ditch wish you had. Mine go on a 2005 Toyota Tundra Double Cab 4×4. You can also use them in the Spring or Summer in case you get stuck in the mud.Before buying, make sure you know your tire sizes. We found the chart that SCC provides to be accurate and appropriate.

Safety View Back-Up Camera System with 7 Inch Color LCD Monitor Review

Just the ticket
Used in Toyota Prius where backup view is terrible. This camera works terrific. Wiring was very easy to understand but a little tough to figure route on the back of the lifting door of my Prius. I routed the wire from the license plate camera to under the external trim then under the sealing trim on the back of the lifting rear door. Made a coil where the camera wire exited at the top of the door and ran the wire down to the back up light for the camera turn on power. The small coil of wire prevents stressing the camera wire to its breaking point by bending it back and forth when opening the door. I Velcroed the transmitter to the rear cabin wall. The color camera and big monitor provides great view behind car – even at night.

I used velcro on the back of the monitor and placed a strip under the car radio so I could easily remove it when I wanted because I didn’t want to place it on top of dash with the supplied mounting gear using double stick tape.

One note on operation: being wireless, the monitor will sometimes activate when driving past structures with security systems with strong wireless signals, like banks. Some establishments even use security cameras where pictures show up on the backup monitor when you’re close to the building. At night this can be distracting until you get used to it. The monitor does have a manual mode if the rare turn ons are annoying, or you can pull the monitor off the velcro support and place it under the console or simply unplug it.

Final bit of info is if possible, plug the monitor into a cigarette jack that has its power off when the keys are turned off. Most of my cars operate like this so no problem here. The monitor draws a tiny current in the off mode – like 10mA which is not very much but if your car is not driven for long periods, or your battery is already weak, it can discharge your battery.

Awesome Unit
The Duracell DPP-600HD Powerpack 600 Jump Starter is an awesome unit. It started a hard starting truck in four degree weather on two separate occasions. This vehicle is our son’s with a 2000 watt amp for stereo system. My husband ran a mini air compressor off of the DC outlet for airing up tires on our boat trailer and camper and it performed much better than plugging it into the cigarette lighter of the vehicle (with it running). As far as the AC outlet, I will update this review after trying that option. I would recommend this item to anyone looking to purchase this type of unit. Looking forward to warmer weather to try it out at the camp site. Also received the unit in about three days from Amazon. Great service as always.

Great piece of gear to have in your vehicle…
This is a great piece of gear to have in your vehicle. I leave it in the back of the truck and it’s always being charged by the cigarette lighter when the truck is on the road. I’ve used the 12V power output, and the inverter for AC power a few times. As a test, I ran a 17″ macbook pro for 1.5 hours!!! It has an AM/FM radio with an ipod input and a USB charger too. The USB charger can run other USB devices like fans, a light, etc… The speaker is not great, but it’s good enough to listen to podcasts while working around the garage.

The compressor just came in handy for a tire that was low on my wife’s car. I haven’t used the jumper cables yet, but I’m sure if someone asks me for a jump start and I pull this thing out, they will be buying one of these units of of Amazon the next morning. The Amazon price was $106 US delivered. At that price, I think everyone should have one of these in their car and maybe another one in their garage. The compressor comes with a “pin” for blowing up basketballs or footballs.

I added a package of 15amp fuses in the compartment where the air hose lives for backups to the built in fuse in the unit. The unit also has an LED worklight that could come in handy in a pinch. My only wish for this item would be that if it had a small lid on the top that allowed access to a tool area for screw drivers or pliers, fuses, spare keys, etc…

Marriage Saver
No more fighting with your spouse when you hitch up the trailer. I think my wife actually gets some perverse satisfaction out of our hitching sessions. That makes one of us. So when she steps back into the house to grab a jacket (or whatever that “one more thing” is that keeps us from leaving), I quickly snap the magnetic camera onto the tailgate and hitch up the trailer before she makes it back outside.

Yes, it’s that fast.

The image quality is great. The display is very clear. You can even reverse the picture to correct for the “my left or the camera’s left?” challenge. My only complaint is that there is a little static as you get farther away from the camera (or if the charge is low).

I bought this camera for a specific reason (not to avoid the hitching wars with my wife, because that’s actually kind of fun–kind of). The spaces in my RV storage yard are very close together and I have a very bad blind spot on the curb-side of the trailer. This happens to be the side that swings wide when I pull out of my space. One time the rear corner of my trailer hit the mirror of the RV parked next to me. So I bought this camera in hopes of correcting that blind spot.

Although my awning arms are aluminium, there’s just enough metal hardware for the camera’s magnet to stick to. Then as I’m pulling out of my space (or backing in), I can see how close I’m getting to my neighbor’s RV. The picture quality isn’t great at that distance, but it’s still good enough to help me avoid any more close calls.

I kind of doubt the claim of 300′ range. Mine has never worked at even half that distance. I’m lucky to get a signal from the rear end of my 30′ trailer, but I’m sure there’s a big difference between unobstructed line of sight coverage and bouncing the signal around my trailer and over the bed of my truck (probably about 40′). Honestly though, there’s slight signal loss just from sticking it on my tailgate ten feet away.

Anyway, I’m very happy with the product. It’s not cheap, but it’s a lot cheaper than buying another mirror for my neighbor’s RV.

Great system!
We purchased this system a couple of months ago for our motorhome. We just got home from a trip and loved it! Shipping was very fast. I broke a little piece off the monitor stand and they shipped a new one out the same day at no charge. Very nice people. Very easy to install. I installed the wiring under the motorhome while my husband installed the camera and hooked up the power supply. Our rearview mirror inside the motorhome is useless so we intalled the monitor above the mirror and leave the camera on the whole time we are travelling and use it as a rearview mirror. low profile, easy to install; no complaints
I don’t have any complaints about these chains, and I am one to easily complaint about product flaws. Very easy to install, although the first part of the rachet-system takes a second to comprehend. They seem to fit my tires very very well (185/65-14), snugger than other chains I’ve tried. These are super compact–about the size of three dinner plantes stacked together. Italian made, so Chinese-made product quality isn’t an issue. These also meet “S” low-profile standards; I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX. Very happy.
