Z-Wave allows me to program and monitor the lock activity remotely. Customizable pin codes allow you to identify who is entering the house or you can have your Z-Wave system send you a text message.

The lock is of very good quality and eliminates the need for a key. I started using combination locks when my children would come home and needed a key to get in. No more hiding a key or losing the key that was in the backpack.

We decided as a family to try a fried turkey for thanksgiving. After some research we settled on the Bayou Classic 1195 and overall it did not disappoint. We “test” fried a chicken a couple days before Thanksgiving to make sure things were good – and they were – crispy and good. On Thanksgiving day we fried a turkey with a stand-by roasted turkey in case of mayhem. No such mayhem was encountered. In the colloquial ways of the Internet – OMFG. Never have you had a better turkey than one that took a 60 minute bath in bubbling peanut oil. The fried turkey was the only thing on the table that was finished off.

If I have to find something to nitpick (and trust me, I am digging here) the air control versus the fuel regulation can take a bit to dial-in. Lastly, with 30 quarts of oil it can take about 25 minutes to get up to temperature but that seems to be universal among fryers. Other people wrote in to comment on other fryers and their primary complaints were assembly of the unit which is a non-issue for this model as it arrives completely assembled save for one piece, and models with painted bases tend to burn off the paint during the first few uses – here too, a non-issue as this base is aluminum.

This drying rack is PERFECT. We had many wooden racks for years that were very rickety and tended to discolor over time, and we have a metal one from a Target store that we thought was OK, but compared to this drying rack, does not even come close. Take it out of the box, unfold it, snap the top arms into place, and voila, ready to use. We have two of these in our laundry room and they perform flawlessly. Our racks are very stable on our tile floor, with very little deflection when you put pressure on them – so they are not rickety at all and are, in fact, quite stable.

The finish is all chrome and I would imagine it should hold up for many years rust-free – but time will tell. Regardless, even if I get only 5 years out of these racks, they are worth the price in stability alone, and not having to worry about discoloring clothing or mold and mildew – avoiding one ruined shirt due to wood-induced stains pays for the rack. Very pleased with this rack as it is a top-tier product.

My wife and I do not understand why better products like this are not available from local big-name stores where the masses shop – it is a sin that consumers only have ready-access to inferior products locally. So, Amazon Prime fixes this situation quite well. As a result, we pretty much just stay away from the local stores except for food and dry goods. Enjoy.

I read all the reviews and took forever to choose a towel rack, and finally decided I’d go with this one – it seemed to offer the most space for the best price, and I’m so glad I did. I have owned and used the Big Easy for several seasons now. My first review was a 4 star for the only thing lacking was good cooking instructions. I did have to make some SS secures to hold meats better in the cage. Now I have experience thru experimentation and other user reviews it is a 5 star. This is the best fried turkey cooker! Its hard to admit, but it has reformed several die-hard oil fry turkey lovers. Sometimes for big parties we oil fry and Big Easy fry several birds. They are both good, sometimes hard to tell the difference, but most folks like the Big Easy done turkeys the best. It is more consistent, better tasting and the use, clean up could not be easier. Just like oil frying, wash and dry your turkey, bring your turkey up to room temp before putting into cooker (very important).

I spray my birds with just a little high temperture canola oil, sprinkle with garlic pepper and salt. Best skin ever. Meat moist and tender. Drippings for Gravy!!!! It does take a little longer to cook than oil frying, but uses less gas. Very little monitoring while cooking so you can do other things. When done and while the cooked turkey is covered and resting before serving/carving (~15 minutes)I can have everything cleaned up and put away. It make slipping into that after turkey dinner coma so much easier! We eat turkey more often throughout the year. Good for parties. Virtually no maintenance and no wear. Enjoy!

I have been frying turkeys in a propane fired kettle for years. The Masterbuilt is by far the best way to do it. You use about half the amount (2 gallons) of peanut oil in the MB. Consequently, getting the oil up to cooking temperature (350 in less than 35 minutes)was much quicker than the kettle. There is a bit of a learning curve if you are used to the kettle. I cooked my 14 lb. Thanksgiving Day turkey for about 45 minutes, and was startled to see that the temp. was in the high 170’s, and counting. I had to do an emergency rescue to keep the bird from turning to leather. Took it out of the oil immediately, and left it uncovered on the cutting board in a cool area to slow down the carry-over heat. The result was very good nonetheless.

For our friends Thanksgiving party on Saturday, I checked the temp. after thirty-five minutes this time, and it was still a little higher (mid 150’s) than I like it, but close enough. The temp. rose about another 10 degrees during the thirty minute resting period and the bird was ready to be carved. Excellent turkey in 1 hr 40 min from start to finish!

The MB has the advantage of being compact, faster, and less labor intensive. The spout makes oil removal & filtering for a second use (if you desire) very easy. It is also much more economical considering the cost of propane, and peanut oil.
The Masterbuilt is billed as an indoor fryer, but you must pay close attention. No matter how careful you are there is always the potential for oil drips, and you do need a lot of work area after you remove the bird. There is also a lot of vapor while the bird is cooking, which could leave marks on your walls & ceiling.

The timer on the MB is kind of unnecessary. If you’re frying a turkey, you probably have your own timer. I think it would have been a better idea to have an audio signal on the thermostat, to let you know when the oil has reached the preset.

Overall, I would say this is the only way to fry your Turkey from now on!

I really like the Lasko heater. Using in a basement that stays nice and cool in the summers, but very cold in winter. Had a smaller Vornado heater for years that worked great, very happy with this so far as a replacement.

This unit is very quiet, quieter than the last unit (which wasn’t noisy by any means) and has features the small Vornado did not have. I don’t bother with the remote, don’t need it. Someone on a video review pointed out the handle is not really effective and I agree. If using the handle in the back you have to stabilize the unit by holding the front as well, otherwise you could easily drop it.

Basement room is 25×13 ft. Does not take long for this to heat it, but haven’t had that many cold days or nights yet. Others have pointed out the cord gets hot. To be honest, I don’t think I ever checked the cord on my last unit so don’t know if it got hot or not. I only checked this cord because of comments I read here, and it does get hot after even an hour of use. I ran the Vornado for most of the day on colder winter days. The outlet is not loose (some have said that could be the problem with the cord getting hot), but the cord at the outlet gets warm enough that it does concern me.

Otherwise I would have given this 5 stars. I tried connecting the unit instead to a more durable extension cord, the entire extension cord gets hot so that was not a good alternative. A good thing is that you can the set timer on the unit so it goes off automatically. I would highly recommend checking the cord occasionally and do as the directions say and unplug the unit when not in use. But I only need to run it during the day and early evening, turn it off before I go to bed at night.

The settings are great. Temperature control so the unit stops heating when the temperature gets 2 degrees above my setting, then starts up again. Oscillates which helps to evenly distribute heat throughout the room. Timer is a very nice feature in case I forget I left the unit on, my Vornado did not have a timer.

Heating the basement actually lowers my heating bill, I find I don’t have to run my gas furnace as much (can keep the thermostat on the gas furnace lower). However, cost wise it probably evens out since it may increase my electric bill while lowering my gas bill, depending how long I run it each day. Will have to see how much my electricity usage increases this winter vs the Vornado. Have only had this a month so need a few months to see how it compares.

Visually a nice slim unit.

So far this one has been the absolute best among the 3 or 4 I’ve used over the years. When it arrived I was a little disappointed by the size, but once i plugged it in I was impressed with the heat it put off compared to the slightly larger models I used to own. It’s pretty much better in every way: quieter, cheaper, smaller, sleeker-looking, and most importantly–warmer–than the other ones I’ve tried, mostly bought from big-box stores, etc.

The unit has two knobs. One controls “off/fan/900watt heat/1500 watt heat,” and the other controls the ‘thermostat’. Basically it makes the unit turn off for a period of time before turning on again. The thermostat seemed a bit flaky, and I never understood how they worked (in space heaters). But then again, they’ve all been flaky in my past experience.

Bottom line: if you’re looking for a unit this small on the cheap, I would highly recommend it!! I try to use 5-star ratings sparingly, but this one deserves it.

I’ve had various types and brands of space heaters over the years. This one is, by far, the best I’ve experienced.

I use it under the TV facing me to keep warm without having to turn on the central heat. While the sound maybe a bit tinny as mentioned in other reviews….it quickly becomes ambient noise to which you hardly notice. Again, you can turn the volume down or off if it really annoys you that much.

The unit seems very efficient at I can run this heater at a lower setting than I would any other heater because of the way the blower maintains the temperature. I’m sure because of this it uses less power and avoids the occasional draft you feel with other heaters just before they kick back in.

Visitors have all responded with amazement and positive curiousity. One friend of mine plans to get one. He was sold on the remote control.If you need an energy efficient space heater, I highly recommend this.

I am always cold! ALWAYS! this heated mattress pad is more than I could ask for. Setting #2 is just right for me, #4 is a little too warm for all night. Since I received my purchase I no longer use the wall heater in my bed room and my electric bill has gone down $20. I preheat on HI for 20-30 minutes and climb into a nice n’ toasty bed, and then turn one side of my bed down to 2, and the other side to 4 that way I can move closer to or away from the heat throughout the night without having to wait for the bed to warm up or cool down.

The controllers are absolutely silent, they do get warm to the touch but the manual promises that it is normal and safe. The heat setting display is red in color and pretty dim but I keep them under pillows. The heat is even. The heat cords are not noticeable unless you are looking for them.
I have not washed it in the machine yet, but the manual says you can.

Its pretty thin too so if you have a pillow top and are worried about it affecting the level of squish…Don’t worry. Also it is pretty forgiving size wise, and should fit even the deepest of mattresses.

if I had to pick one thing, the only thing that I don’t like about it is that both controllers have to be plugged into separate outlets so you will need a power strip. I plug mine into the power strip with my phone charger and bedside lamp and turn off the whole strip when I leave for the day to cut out phantom power usage.
