Perfect Timing
This is the 2nd watch I’ve purchased from Perfect Timing in four months. I specifically chose this 2nd, more expensive, watch from Perfect Timing because the condition, quality, and timeliness of the 1st purchase was absolutey flawless. My Baume & Mercier Hampton XL Magnum arrived today, as promised. It is beautiful and quite apparent no one has ever worn it. I did, however, find this same watch offered through other internet sources at a slightly lower cost but, as noted above, chose to purchase again through Perfect Timing because of the trust they instilled in me in my 1st purchase.

As for the watch, I looked at many different styles and brands over the last several months and selected the Baume & Mercier Hampton XL Magnum for its style, quality, comfort, and price. Perfect Timing handled this sale perfectly, as I expected they would.

Pictures don’t do it justice
Gorgeous watch–pictures don’t to it justice. The back of the case has a window into the internals, something very cool for a watch buff. I was concerned that the case and bracelet might scratch easily but the stainless steel seems to be very scratch-resistant. Easy to set, easy to read, and very stylish.

Only two things to beware of:

1. Tag does not authorize ANY watches sold through the Web, period. I actually bought mine at an authorized dealer and paid $1695, and the watch is still worth it. Luckily I think Amazon & its sellers are about as good as you’ll get for non-authorized sellers. Just make sure you research the actual company selling you the product.

2. There are no microadjustments for the band, meaning it’s remove X number of links and that’s it. Tag has very sturdy bands–that’s probably the reason for no microadjustment. Mine could be a tiny bit tighter but I can’t add another link back because it’s too tight. Lesson–you might not get band fit you’re 100% happy with. I think the band sturdiness over the long term is worth it.

Love this watch – elegant, practical, and keeps great time
What a great watch! I received this as a Christmas gift and have worn it daily since. Movado watches are usually very classy, so it is no surprise that the Juro’s simplistic design is both elegant, fitting in perfectly with a job situation, and practical: the watch dresses down easily when you pair it with “dressy” casual wear (think “Banana Republic dress shirt, untucked, worn over jeans”) for going out. It keeps accurate time and is both thin and lightweight (for those of you who don’t like watches that weigh 5 lbs). This watch looks far better in person than what the picture shows, and looks even better on your wrist!

This is a fantastic price on Amazon – most places sell for almost twice that much, and free shipping can’t be beat. No sales tax is an added bonus, and the additional 5-year warranty is just cream on top. (Note: read updates from June 21, 2009 – this is no longer the case)

Update August 23, 2008: I still have this watch, and I still wear it everywhere. I’ve moved to Sweden since my review and this watch still gets looks everywhere I go. A lot of men like watches with fancy dials and knobs, and don’t get me wrong, I’d probably pick one up too if I could afford a $3000 Tag Heuer or Omega watch… but then my watch would look like everyone else’s. Sometimes simplicity is all you need, and in a country known for its clean lines and modernity, this watch works perfectly.

Its understated elegance is simply my favorite attribute about this watch.

Regarding the warranty comment from my original review – I guess Amazon is no longer offering a 5-year warranty on this watch. Be sure to contact them about warranty details since this watch is NOT covered by Movado’s warranty (as it as not sold directly by an authorized Movado dealer). Actually it is the best price I’ve come across for the 800 Series from the larger and more trustworthy stores. I’ve seen it at one other store for $440.00, but I like knowing Amazon stands behind their sales. It’s a casual watch that can be worn with most any outfit. I think one of the best features is the easy clasp inside the band that allows you to re-size the band to fit your wrist. The box the watch is stored in is very simplistic and modern, but then again Movado is known for being a simple yet elegant design.

This is a midsized watch and would not fit well on someone who has large wrists. Luckily or not I have small wrists that accommodate a watch of this size. This is a great watch for someone who is just starting to collect Swiss made time pieces and for the long time collector. Overall I am happy with the purchase and would recommend.

I was able to purchase this watch from JomaShop.com for the 50% discount mentioned in the review above. Since then, the Amazon price has increased by about $50 but the watch is still well worth it (considering it retails at almost $800).

The pictures listed here simply do not do it justice – go to a Movado company store or authorized retailer – and try it on. I almost bought mine on the spot at double the price!

This is a very classy dress watch at a very reasonable price. The stainless steel band is accented by semi-circles to complement the distinct Movado motif. The butterfly clasp completely hides the beginning/end of the bracelet. This clean look is finished with a scratchproof sapphire face and rhodium dot to signify the 12-o-clock mark.

I get complimented on this watch all the time, and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for one. As with all Movados, if you have trouble reading an analog dial, much less a numberless face, this watch is not for you.

Purchased for my wife. She loved it, the small heart window is unique and actually looks kind of like it is beating. The mother of pearl face is a great accent. You can disregard the chips they call diamonds as they are ridiulously small but I did not purchase it for that reason. Requires a jeweler to size as links are screwed together but it only cost is $10 at our local jeweler. The size of the watch is a little larger than I would normally like but is still not oversized for a womens watch. Watch the price… I’ve seen it as low as $399 from Mytimepice in NY…Great dealer too.

Citizen Men’s Eco-Drive Skyhawk A-T Titanium Watch #JY0010-50E Reviews
Awesome watch!

Even though I’m not a pilot, I’ve always liked the Skyhawk/Navihawk titanium line of Citizen watches. My brother is a commercial pilot and has an older one. He loves it. They are just too cool. But I never liked the fact that they didn’t have a backlight for the LCD displays. Well now they do! It has an amber backlight that works great. This watch is the new titanium version of the much heavier stainless steel JY0000-53E that came out last year.

Of course the weight of this watch is ridiculously light due to the Titanium construction. For such a big watch, I can hardly tell it’s on. I can’t stand a heavy watch bouncing on my arm. And be aware, this is definitely a big watch. But that seems to be the trend now (which I like).

The atomic time function works like a charm. I also like having world time at my fingertips. I have family members that live overseas, so it’s nice to be able to check their local time at a glance.

It’s great knowing I will never have to change batteries with this watch. The solar-powered “Eco-Drive” is an incredible feature that every watch company should have.

The watch has 2 alarms, world time zones (43 cities), solar power, atomic time, a countdown timer, a chronograph, a slide rule, UTC time, a 24 hour clock, ultra-light and nearly indestructable titanium construction, 200 meter waterproof, mineral glass, and it looks outstanding. What more could you want? I think it even does the dishes, bathrooms, and windows. But I haven’t looked up those features yet in the 115 page manual (English portion).

One thing that’s missing is a one-touch feature to bring all hands to the 12 o’clock position to clear the LCD displays during certain times of day. The hands occasionally obscure your attempts to read the LCD’s. Another little gripe is you have to pull out and turn the crown to check the date. And it’ll show you the date of your second time zone only. You have to do a couple more steps to get your home zone date if your second time zone is across the dateline from you. I think there’s a way to set the LCD 2 to show the date all the time, but I haven’t figured out how to do that yet. (Correction 4/1/08: I don’t think there is any way you can get LCD 2 to show the date.)

Forget Rolex, Breitling, and Omega. They might look cool and have their high-falutin image, but they have nowhere near the functionality and practicality of this new Citizen. And they all cost about 10 times more. They are also much heavier.

Bottom line: It’s virtually indestructable, ultralight, maintenance and adjustment free. I never have to set the time again nor will I ever have to change a battery or put it in a watch-winder (for automatics). I’m a big fan and proud owner of one of the coolest watches on the planet.
